2.7.9 Release

Monk has released version 2.7.9 of Ekklesia 360. With this release we are introducing improvements to the API and added 3rd Party Media Hosting.

The update includes:

  • the ability to host media with a 3rd party. (see: How to use Media on other servers) This means clients can host their site on one server of their choice but use an alternative server for their media files.
  • the ability to use Monklets dynamically (see: Using Monklets: Passing inline parameters to Monklets).  This allows developers or clients  to use that same Monklet in different contexts, producing varying output, rather than writing multiple Monklets to do almost the same thing.
  • Sermons API now includes the new __preview__ tag.  A shortened version of the text. HTML is stripped. Defaults to be no more than 250 characters. Can be specified with __perview limit='120'__  Uses the description if no summary is available.  (see: Sermons API)
  • Improved API for Articles (before_show, after_show) and Pages (Added __url__, API Created new highly customizable nav).
  • Custom 404 error page can now be specified on Account Settings page.

This release includes 16 new features, improvements and fixes since 2.7.8.
